#TheVoltaProject to support 30+ women in the Volta Region of Ghana. Designed to support women seamstresses on their path to financial independence and fulfillment, the grassroots program imparts life-long skills in business resiliency and gender empowerment and matches women with micro-finance loans to invest in their future.
#TheVoltaProject, developed by Hope Sews in partnership with the Alliance for African Women Initiative (AFAWI), aims to provide women with holistic empowerment training and resources. The overarching goal is to give women the tools to start a business or grow an existing one.
The project seeks to improve their quality of life by achieving independence, staying healthy, and providing for their families and communities. Our programming prioritizes 4 impact areas: micro-financing loans, financial training, gender equality, and health training.
For the 30 women in the program, the benefits of growing their business, connecting with other women, and learning from each other do not end with them. #TheVoltaProject means more opportunities to be the apprentice of an empowered role model, learning from them while building their own path to create their business and become leaders. Meet some of the women behind the movement.
